Legacies Anchor

This piece found its home during one of the most challenging and memorable days of my artistic journey.

On my way to an art event in Pass-a-Grille, my rental car broke down in St. Petersburg. Rather than turn back, I continued the journey on foot, transporting nearly thirty paintings—large and small—balanced on a rolling speaker. After traveling several miles, with more than two miles still ahead, a real estate investor named Todd stopped and asked if I needed help.

Not only did he give me a ride to the event, but he also helped me secure an ideal location to set up my display. As an additional show of support, he purchased this painting and took it home with him.

Todd was drawn to this particular piece because of his service in the Navy, seeing something meaningful in its oceanic colors and flowing forms.

What began as a day of setbacks became a reminder that perseverance often creates opportunities where none seem possible.
