Botanical Guardian

This colorful owl found its home at a botanical event in Plant City.

It had been a long day. I spent hours displaying my artwork, talking with visitors, and waiting for the right collector to connect with one of my pieces. As the day went on, no sales materialized, and eventually it was time to start packing everything away.

Just as I was preparing to leave, an older woman stopped by my display.

Among all the artwork available, this owl immediately caught her attention. She spent a few moments looking it over before deciding it was the piece she wanted to take home.

What made the sale memorable was the timing. After an entire day without a sale, the painting found its collector at the very last moment—right as the event was coming to an end.

Experiences like this taught me one of the most important lessons of selling art: you never know when the right person is going to appear. A day that seems unsuccessful can change completely in a matter of minutes.

Today, this owl lives in a private collection as a reminder that sometimes the final opportunity of the day is the one that matters most.
