Taurus

Taurus was one of the earliest paintings created for my Zodiac Collection and one of the most time-intensive pieces of the series. Because of the amount of work involved, I placed a high value on the original and was determined to stand by that value.

When I first showed the painting to my family, my Aunt Dina immediately fell in love with it. What she didn't love was the price.

What followed was a long debate about art, value, pricing, and what an original work is truly worth. As a talented salesperson, she came closer than almost anyone to convincing me to lower my prices. I offered prints and even suggested creating another version, but she wasn't interested in alternatives. She wanted the original painting.

Despite her persistence, we never reached an agreement, and the painting remained with me.

Years later, after helping me through a difficult chapter of my life, I decided to gift her the original Taurus painting for Christmas.

When she opened it, she was overcome with emotion. The painting she had wanted from the very beginning was finally hers. Seeing her reaction and knowing how much it meant to her was worth far more than any price we had debated years earlier.

Today, Taurus remains in her collection as a reminder that some pieces find their home not through a sale, but through gratitude, family, and love.
