The Painting That Refused to Stay Put

After purchasing my original Aquarius painting, Jessica displayed it in her home where it caught the attention of her aunt. She loved the piece so much that she eventually convinced Jessica to let her have it. During the transfer, the original painting was damaged beyond repair. Rather than lose the piece forever, I was asked to recreate it. The process taught me something unexpected: reproducing a painting is often more difficult than creating it. While the second version remained faithful to the original, it reinforced my desire to keep moving forward and creating new work rather than repeating old ideas.
