The suitcase full of shoes

During my first trip back to Detroit as an adult, my father saw the custom boots I had been creating. Before I returned to Florida, he handed me a suitcase filled with Nike shoes and encouraged me to continue. Those shoes became the foundation for some of my earliest wearable art experiments. Long before Visionara offered blankets, leggings, and dresses, these custom Nikes were turning heads on buses, starting conversations with strangers, and proving that art could live beyond the canvas.
